Node Composer for Mac.
Help & support.

Node Composer is a node-based canvas for generative media on the Mac: cards for pictures, clips, sounds, prompts and 3D objects, wired together; generation in the cloud with your own WaveSpeed or Runware account, or on your Mac with open models.

Getting started

Library › Demo

Demo projects

The library’s Demo folder holds six projects made with the app (a product reel, a design from sketch to render, a launch post, a storyboard, a lookbook, a brand mascot), to open and take apart; in the Starter Edition they open read-only. Help › Add Demo Projects brings back the ones you deleted.

Settings › Providers

Cloud generation

Get an API key from WaveSpeed or Runware and paste it in Settings › Providers. The app asks for your consent before anything of yours goes to a provider; it never sends your key anywhere else.

Settings › Local

Local generation

Settings › Local lists the models that run on this Mac (Apple silicon) and downloads them from Hugging Face. They are large (5–38 GB) and need memory (16 GB for the smallest, 32 GB for most, 64 GB for LTX-2.3 8-bit). Models you already downloaded with another tool can be reused: choose their Hugging Face cache, ~/.cache/huggingface (the whole folder), in Models Folder › Choose….

Settings › Studio

Studio Edition

The app is free as the Starter Edition (one editable project, 20 cards); the Studio Edition removes those limits. It is a one-time in-app purchase in Settings › Studio, not a subscription: bought once, it is yours on every Mac signed in with the same Apple Account, where Restore Purchases brings it back.

Settings › Assistants

Assistants

Settings › Assistants connects Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and others to the app’s MCP server, so they can read your library and work on the canvas.

Frequently asked

Where are my projects?
In the app’s folder on your Mac: ~/Library/Containers/studio.node-composer.mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Node Composer/Library. Export Project… makes a .nodecomposer bundle you can move or share.
Can I bring in projects from the earlier Node Composer?
Yes: File › Import from Node Composer (the Electron app) and File › Import Library… (the Swift app) read their libraries and copy the projects in. Nothing is changed there.
A generation failed.
The card’s row says why. Most often: no key, an exhausted balance at the provider, a picture the model does not take, or the consent not given (Settings › Providers).
The local model is slow or stops.
Check Settings › Local: the memory the model needs, Save memory, and the engine’s log. Close other heavy apps.
Which licences do the local models come under?
Each row in Settings › Local links its model’s licence. Most models are Apache-2.0 or MIT. LTX-2.3 and LTX-2.5 come under Lightricks’ LTX Community Licenses, which you accept before their first download. LTX is free for people and companies with annual revenues under US$10 million; above that, Lightricks asks for a paid licence (licensing@ltx.io). The LTX licences also restrict use: no deepfakes of anyone without their consent, and anything you publish must say it is machine-generated. Gemma 3 12B, which downloads with LTX-2.3, comes under Google’s Gemma Terms of Use. LTX-2.5’s repository on Hugging Face asks you to accept the licence there too, and to save a token of that account in Settings › Local.

Acceptable use and reports

Node Composer does not make sexually explicit or nude pictures, pictures of a person with their clothes taken away, or anything sexual involving minors. Such prompts are refused on your Mac before anything is sent, for cloud and local models alike, and WaveSpeed and Runware apply their own moderation.

If a result offends anyway, choose Report Content… in its card’s menu: an email opens with the model, where and when the result was made and its prompt (the file only if you attach it), and Report and Delete removes the result as well. We read every report and answer within two working days; a model or a kind of prompt that gets through is added to the filter in the next update.
